Medical effect: l'estrogel 0.06% transdermal gel is effective for the treatment of hot flush and perspiration caused by menopausal disorder and ovarian dysfunction after ovariectomy.

Contraindications and precautions: do not use for the following categories of patients:

pregnant, possibly pregnant or breastfeeding women,

patients who are diagnosed or are suspected of estrogen-dependent malignant tumors (ex. breast cancer, endometrium cancer),

patients with a history of breast cancer,

patients with an untreated endometrial hyperplasia,

patients with thrombophlebitis or pulmonary embolism or a history of those,

patients with arterial thromboembolic disease (coronary heart disease, stroke, etc.) or a history of it,

patients with liver disease,

patients with a history of undiagnosed or unexpected vaginal bleeding,

patients with an acute episode of Porphyria.

If an allergic reaction occurs, stop taking the medicine and consult with your doctor. If you’re taking any other medication or receiving any other treatment, you have to consult with your doctor before use.

Dosage and administration of l'estrogel 0.06% transdermal gel from Japan for menopausal disorder and ovarian dysfunction (estradiol)

For adults, apply 2 pushes (1.08 mg of an active ingredient) once a day, from both wrists up to the shoulders. The gel should not be applied on the breasts, vaginal area or face or near those. Avoid application to the wounded area, including cuts, eczema or dermatitis. After applying the gel, do not wash the area for at least one hour. Do not immediately apply other skin products which contain large amount of alcohol after applying the gel.

The doctor in charge may decrease the dosage according to symptoms. If it is decreased, apply one push (0.54 mg of an active ingredient) a day, from both wrists up to the shoulders.
